The motor and battery weighs just 15.4 lbs and is equal to a 2 hp gas motor. The battery connects to the motor via 6′ of cable and includes a GPS throttle control which shows speed, range, battery percent remaining and power being drawn from the battery.

How Far?
Your range will depend on conditions as well as the type of kayak you have but the measurements below can be taken as a reasonably accurate reference.
Full Throttle: 45 minutes
Half Throttle: 4 hours
Quarter Throttle: 9 hours
Solar Recharging
The Ultralight 403 via an optional solar panel. The panel simply plugs into the battery’s charge port and can be done even while the motor is running to extend your range. When totally drained, the motor can be recharged in about 2 days depending on conditions. You can even run the motor directly from a dead battery. Expect to get 2 to 3 kph.
